Our house band division. A real band, with real amps, playing real rock covers at small venues around the Triangle — every song slightly faster than the original, because they are excited and the originals are not going anywhere. Booking roughly every month or two, which makes them the Triangle’s least available act. School comes first.

IDENTITY

It is a robot. It is also an amp.

The band needed a mark that a kid could redraw on a notebook in about four seconds. This is that mark.

The Robots Arent People mark: a robot head built like a guitar amplifier, with knobs for eyes and a speaker grille for a mouth
  • The eyes are amp knobs. Both turned up. The right one is past ten, which is as close to a mission statement as this band has.
  • The mouth is a speaker grille. Read it head-on and it’s a face; step back and it’s a cabinet. That is the whole joke and we like it.
  • The antenna is non-negotiable. Robots have antennas. Take it off and it’s just furniture.
  • It survives being small. Sticker, pick, kick drum, browser tab — it still reads at the size of a fingernail.
